Thing a day

TAD29 – Sernik, anyone?

Our weekend video project culminated with today’s editing and publishing effort on the third recipe. I spent more time on this video than the others. It’s longer, but I also had some weird technical problems. I realize that’s not a “thing”, but finding solutions is, not to mention whatever creativity points I get for the work, itself.

As this is the last day, all I can say is, it was a lot of fun.

Scared Heightless

This is my Day 6 contribution to Thing-A-Day-Lives.

As it turns out, I was busy all afternoon checking out video editing software. What I had been using all along suddenly stopped working. I suspected it may have something to do with some configuration problem that might be impossible for me to troubleshoot. Knowing that I’d likely need an upgrade at some point, I started looking at various solutions. They ranged from free to ouch. I had some video that I’d shot a couple years ago and grabbed it. I would use the short clips to test out editing features that were important. I ended up with a winner, but realized that I’d spent the entire time on this and no time on TAD. I almost gave up when I realized that the video I used as a test case was my TAD. So, here it is…

My wife, Lee, and I were driving to Acadia and had to cross the Penobscot Narrows Bridge, which is pretty high. Lee is afraid of heights and she was driving. I had my cellphone ready and started recording the crossing. I knew she would be nervous. She was, but everything ended well.
